As of August 2010 I have been in anesthesia school to become a nurse anesthetist. I have worked in an ICU for about 3 years and I'm ready to jump into the wonderful world of anesthesia. The program is a jam packed 40 hours a week, 27 months straight through - no break. They tell you not to work while in school...
Because I like to make things difficult (not really) I started anesthesia school 3 months pregnant and worked the weekends for five months. It was ridiculous...absolutely ridiculous. Everyone asks me how I do it. My answer: Day by day.
It's a rough ride, but it will be worth it in the end!
